The most powerful stories are deeply personal, yet resonate on a universal level. Instead of rambling on about "what happened," the author draws the reader in by engaging them in the character's transformation, making them feel as if they're part of the story.
To be able to write at this level, you need to hone in on your true voice, discover your unique writing strengths, be confident about what makes your book or collection different, and know how to leverage these skills when approaching agents and publishers.
Here's how I can help you do that:
The Jungian Writing Method will lead you to the heart of your story through doing deep soul work, mining memories through imagery, discovering unique signature themes, knowing your personal myths and archetypes, working with your shadow, and putting you into words.
But this wasn't always the case.
For most of my life I had no idea who I was.
I knew what people expected, what others wanted, who I was supposed to be. But me, the real me? Clueless.
This lack of self-knowledge didn’t just have an impact on my career pattern, choices in relationships, and confidence, but also greatly influenced my writing.
I work with intuitive, experimental, genre-bending writers who enjoy breaking traditional language and publishing rules. We throw out all linear methods, plot planning and please-the-market nonsense. Instead, using depth psychology to hone your true soul voice, we honour the shapes and themes your writing wants to inhabit.
My mantra is:
From a young age my talent in art and words was recognised, yet, my creativity was squeezed into a shape that wasn’t me at all. No matter how lyrical my prose, the writing felt scripted and predictable. When I sketched hyper-realistic portraits, they had no life.
As I navigated two decades of the publishing world, moving from bookseller to publishing rep to features writer, proofreader, editor and ultimately writing coach... after this entire road trip through books and words… I still couldn’t write something in my own style and personality. I could ace any brand voice. Mimic a superstar as a ghost writer. But me? My unique voice? It evaded me.
It wasn’t because I wasn't a good writer. I was.
It was because I didn’t know myself. And without knowing who I was, I couldn’t be authentic and true with my words.
And then I met Jung.
Well, I wish I had met the real Carl, a few decades ago. But instead I met his work, his books, and his theories.
And it changed everything.
I finally saw myself. I got to know her. All the deep darkness, all the radiant light. My reactions, my natural tendencies, my calling, my purpose, my sense of yes that’s me, and no that’s not me.
That knowledge transformed my writing like a spell.
Suddenly, I started getting published. Connections with incredible people happened overnight.
My entire world turned on its axis. Everything felt… aligned.
Now, with everything in me, I want to do that for anyone who has ever felt the way I once did.
Naturally, that can happen through my online courses and programs, but I also infuse my philosophy into everything I create.
I make art.
I create tarot and oracle decks.
I write stories, essays, articles, and books.
All the work I do has one objective:
To guide you closer and closer to your true self, on and off the page.
One of her favourite things to do is make new friends. If your pooch wants to trade photos with her, she’ll be ecstatic.
Maddie is the first to hear my ideas and gets visibly excited about every single one of them. She oozes confidence, embodies the word happy, and loves networking at the dog park. I strive to be more like her every day. Thanks to Maddie I spend more hours in nature than I ever would have alone, and my business, books, art, and relationships are better because of it.
"As the months went on, our sessions turned into a ritual I looked forward to. I would prepare my notes, eager to share my progress and hear her thoughts. With every draft, I felt my confidence blossoming, and my once hesitant voice began to resonate with clarity and strength."
As warm as she is bright, Michelle brings sunshine to the editing process. From a technical perspective, her feedback is meticulous, thorough, and timely.
I’m so grateful for our time together and how she made my book better. Fellow writers, you won’t regret working with this gem of a human! I highly recommend her services.
'As we dove deeper into the characters and their journeys, Michelle encouraged me to explore the shadows and light within them. She prompted me to ask questions I had never considered: What motivates them? What fears hold them back? What is their true essence? It was a revelation, and with each conversation, I felt more empowered to breathe life into my words.'
My experience with Michelle has primarily being with her as a writer. She has a multidisciplinary approach to writing, is willing to take risks and experiment, and has an uncanny eye for detail.
